The Hype List Vol. 1 by Stereohype

As a Top-40 Nightclub DJ, I have an obligation to stick within the realm of Pop music while I work, but as soon as I leave the club I get to fall back in touch with the music I truly love; Cold, Hard, Unadulterated Bass.

I've compiled a list of 5 tracks that have me presently hyped from the likes of Zeds Dead & Wobad alongside a few cuts from the local scene.

1. Zeds Dead - Woman Wine

Zeds Dead are back and in a big way. As a long-time bass-head, i've found myself drifting distant from the TO-based pair over the past little while. I was shocked and enamoured when I heard this track in my feed, Zeds Dead absolutely crushes it on this one!

2. Breathe Carolina x IZII - Echo (Protohype & The Arcturians Remix)

Kelowna...err, I mean Arcturus's own The Arcturians have teamed up with Bass heavyweight Protohype for a massive flip of Breathe Carolina & IZII's hit "ECHO", marking a new world for Spinnin' Records as they test the waters with a dubstep release on the Dutch Super-Label.

3. Flux Pavilion - Bass Cannon (The Rawdogz Remix)

Following in the vein of Kelowna's deep love of bass music, The Rawdogz are the most recent Okanagan-Based group to burst on the vibrant local scene with a massive Trap flip of the Flux Pavilion classic "Bass Cannon". Still shrouded in anonymity, The Rawdogz sole release has us waiting to see what is coming next.

4. Wobad - Dominate

While usually going under the alias Dabow, Wobad flips things around for his Bass Music moniker. His brand new track "Dominate" combines the raw attitude of his Trap alter-ego with top-notch sound design and an insane bass drop.

5. So Sus - Crank

Another local product, now based in Vancouver via Kelowna & South Africa, Tana Pfende aka So Sus channels the darker side of trap music on "Crank", bringing an in-your-face vibe filled with big synths and large horns leaving you with a vibe akin to the likes of Quix, Rickyxsan or Boombox Cartel. Released via his Crystals collective, So Sus has been slowly but surely cementing himself as a major player in the BC trap movement, definitely a name to keep on the radar.
